Boath House History
Steeped in history the local battle of Auldearn took place just a stones throw from the house where the Covenanting army camped. The walled garden and many outbuildings at Boath date back to around 1550 when there was a tower house on the same footprint as the current building. The house is ideally positioned to explore and enjoy the many unique experiences in the Highlands from the Whisky and Castle trails to the more challenging outdoor activities found on mountain and in glen.
Boath has been home to the Matheson family for the past quarter of a century and some of the children are now actively involved in the business, Sam is now General Manager – returning guests have seen the children grow into adults and we in turn have been part of their ongoing story!
