Our Staff - Scottish Country House Hotel

Don and Wendy Matheson, the owners, delight in sharing their home with a dedicated team of staff, many of whom are long serving.

Our head chef Charlie for example has been with the hotel since it first opened. Charlie approached Don and Wendy shortly after they purchased the house and helped them to realise their vision of a luxury Scottish hotel in Nairn. Charlie has a focused brigade of chefs comprising of Tommy, Darren and David.

Our general manager Jonny has been with us for 7 years and is a local lad from Nairn. Jonny is very good at helping guests plan activities whilst they are staying with us and his knowledge of food and wine is helpful at the dinner table. Jonny is assisted by Marion who's catchphrase is 'not a problem' and Sam, the owners son who's catchphrase is 'sound as a pound'!

We pride ourselves on employing local staff and offering them regular in-house training sessions and ensuring that they are trained to the high level of service expected by our guests.

The rest of the team comprise of Heather Robertson head housekeeper with the assistance of Megan, who is also our breakfast waitress and Ian Netherwood - our head groundsman who was inherited with the house and his well tended lawns possibly clinched the sale of the house!
