Our Staff - Scottish Country House Hotel

Don and Wendy Matheson, the owners, delight in sharing their home with a dedicated team of staff, many of whom are long serving. The house has provided 5 wedding ceremonies for staff over the years and hope that the tradition will continue.

Don who's passions include climbing, weight training and his family (not forgetting Pip the family terrier).Wendy, responsible for the general aethetics of the house and garden and whos passions include design and gardens.

Our head chef Charlie now a company director has been with the hotel since it first opened. Charlie approached Don and Wendy shortly after they purchased the house and helped them to realise their vision of a luxury Scottish hotel in Nairn. Charlies passions include food, family and cars. Charlie has a focused brigade of chefs; David from Aberdeenshire whos passions include snowboarding and asian food, Davie from Inverness who likes to keep up with current industry trends and Kirsty from the East coast passionate about the kitchen garden and art.

Hotel manager and owners son Sam has grown up in the business and is joined by George who provides a wealth of experience in food and beveridge as Restaurant manager. Sam is passionate about keeping fit and is an avid archer and George is an intrepid explorer. They are aided by two general assistants. Mary, who is very keen on the wine side of service and sees herself as a sommelier one day. Her passion is in wine appreciation. Robbie, a graduate and a member of a local family brings friendliness and charm whos passions include blues music and cycling.

We pride ourselves on employing local staff and offering them regular in-house training sessions and ensuring that they are trained to the highest level of service expected by our guests.

Heather Robertson our longstanding head housekeeper runs a very proffessional department in the rooms and is assisted by Emma, who is also our breakfast waitress. Heather has a passion for baking and Emma has a gorgeous little girl, obviousy her passion!

Ian Netherwood - our head groundsman,was inherited with the house, his well tended lawns and raked driveways along with a host of other skills are invaluable. Passion for photography, Ian runs his own photographic business.

Amanda - head gardener, although part time manages to get around the 20 acres in a whirlwind of frenzied activity and manages to keep us looking tidy all year. Passion - All things organic

Jolene our principal beauty therapist has been treating guests at Boath House for the past five years and during this time has built up a loyal following and welcomed many new guests into the beauty room.

Karen our beauty therapist who specialises in alternative therapies helps to provide an all round beauty experience at Boath. Passion - sailing with her partner.
