About Us - Luxury Award Winning Hotel in Scotland
Once described as the most beautiful Regency House in Scotland. It was on Historic Scotland’s ‘endangered list’, in the early 90s, when Don and Wendy Matheson found it, fell in love with it, and set about restoring this Grade A listed Georgian Mansion to its original splendour. After 6 years of meticulous refurbishment, Don and Wendy delight in sharing their beautiful home with guests from far and wide.
2010 marks their 20th anniversary in this unique and beautiful home and to complete a great anniversary year Boath House has won the coveted AA Scottish Hotel of the Year award. The property is set in 20 acres including well tended lawns, gardens, woodland and streams. An ornamental lake in the grounds is stocked with brown and rainbow trout and is also home to swans, wild geese and ducks. A series of well-kept paths connect with the house to enable guests to explore the wild flower meadow, the walled garden, to rest and relax on the lawns, secluded seating areas or on sunny terraces.
Fine Dining in the Scottish Highlands
The fine dining restaurant at Boath House is now recognised as one of the finest in Britain and seats 26 – always in candle light. Head Chef, Charlie Lockley has taken the restaurant to 4 AA rosette status and a coveted Michelin Star. The hotel has won numerous awards. But the focus is, and always has been, on the three essential ingredients of hospitality in the Highlands- “a warm welcome, a comfortable room, and a fine dinner”
